The Ascension Project, a collaborative initiative between Wipers Youth CIC and The Safety Box, was established under the Stronger Futures Programme by the Violence Reduction Unit (VRU). With a focus on prevention and early intervention, the project targeted at-risk youth aged 10-18. Through the Ether and Aspire Higher programs, young participants received AQA-accredited training in leadership, personal development, and conflict resolution.
The initiative achieved significant improvements, including increased engagement in education, decreased violent behavior, and strengthened mental health and resilience. The project's successes underscore the value of culturally responsive mentoring and support services for marginalized youth populations, particularly in reducing violence and enhancing community safety.
