Damilaara has been working at Wipers as a Marketing and Communications Officer for three years. She maintains our social media presence, sends out newsletters as well as designing flyers, reports, managing the website, events and training administration.
Working at Wipers enables her to help where she can with providing the opportunities and support she wishes was extended to her. She has first hand insight into how it can feel to be vulnerable as a young person growing up in difficult circumstances such as housing insecurity, navigating identity,
being comfortable as part of the LGBTQ+ community, dealing with mental health issues, chronic pain and lack of community, discipline and purpose.
Now, Dami uses her technological skills and knowledge of youth programmes to help third sector organisations with development as she is also a Young Trustee for The Foyer Federation to help reduce youth homelessness. Moreover, Dami works on costume backstage in theatre to further the storytelling of global majority cultures.
